What Is Change Leadership?

Change Leadership is a proactive approach to Change Management. Change Leadership is the ability to influence and inspire action in others – and respond with vision and agility during periods of growth, disruption or uncertainty to bring about the needed change. It helps position the change as for growth and improvement rather than a finite project.

What Do Change Leaders Do?

Change leaders create an inspiring vision and advocate for that vision throughout the organization. They help tie specific program and project activities to the broader corporate vision, purpose, programs, values, and mandates. Anyone in an organization can operate as a Change Leaders – it’s the actions taken, not the official job title that is important.

Why it's Best to Communicate with Employees?

It’s important to provide consistent and continuous communication to employees even in the absence of new information. Don’t hold information to wait for every piece to fall into place. In the absence of communication, employees will fill in the gaps with what they suspect or what they have heard from colleagues. This is how rumors begin and inaccurate information gets dispersed. As you connect with employees, be cognizant of tone, speak with one voice as a leadership team, communicate when you have updates (and even when you do not), and create and environment that encourages two-way dialogue.
